Never send

Strong scent, heavy pollen, glass, or anything large.

Strong scent — tuberose, oriental lily. In a small room with a sick person it is unbearable, and staff will move it into the corridor.
Heavy pollen — sunflower, and lily with the anthers left in.
Glass. Many wards refuse it. We send wrapped, in a paper-covered water pouch.
Anything large. A bedside table is about 40 cm wide.

What we would tell you in the shop

We do not deliver to ICU. Most units do not accept flowers at all, and we would rather tell you that here than after you have paid.

If a ward turns a delivery away, we bring it back, we do not charge the delivery fee, and we call you.

We do use a little eucalyptus for structure, and it is scented — faintly, and nothing like a lily in a closed room. It is on our list of scented stems and we would rather say so than let you find out. If the person is sensitive to any scent at all, tell us and we leave it out.

The card

Yes, and keep it short. It gets read by whoever is in the room.

Free, always, with any order. Thai, English or Chinese. Say which when you order. If you do not know what to write, say so. We will send three lines for the occasion and you pick one or change it. Most people do this and it is not unusual.

A bigger band is not a better bouquet. Above a large bouquet, most of what you are paying for is size — and size is a problem for anyone who has to carry it, find a vase for it, or fit it on a hospital bedside table. If a smaller one is right, we will say so.
